ZUP Baden-Württemberg

Module 1: Environment

In Module 1, we examine the large-scale distribution patterns of ticks in Baden-Württemberg.

This includes the collection of ticks in the major habitat types, altitudes and climatic regions of Baden-Württemberg. The most important habitats for Ixodes ricinus ticks in Central Europe represent forests, so
in this project special attention is paid to different forest types. Since the activity and population density and dynamics of ticks is highly dependent on climatic factors, we also collect climate data at all field sites.
